Picture Perfect: Senior Portraits

One thing I love about living in the Hudson Valley is the wide array of shooting locations that are available at my fingertips. My favorites are the state parks and historic sites because you can find so many different "backdrops" in one place. This place happens to be one of my favorite little secrets. Amy & I have been meaning to get together for the past few months but we've had conflicting schedules-- up until this past Saturday. It was sweltering hot and time was better spent pool side, so I worked as quickly as possible. I think we got some really great shots! Thanks for being such a great model :) These were supposed to be senior portraits, but it seems they should've been called graduation portraits- Congrats girl!

Simply gorgeous. Also check back over the next few days as I have some more shots of sweet baby "C" to share with you, along with some other projects I've been working on. Happy first day of summer!

Hello World!: Baby "C"

Wow, so since I've been blabbing on facebook and this blog that baby "C" was so well behaved; I think you deserve a sneak peek at this cutie patootie. If looking at these pictures doesn't give you baby fever, I don't know what will. lol. I'm still in the process of editing this session, so there will be more to come next week. But, until then...

Check-in

Well so much for my once a week postings. Things have been busier then expected and for that I am grateful. I've been busy speaking with potential clients, planning shoots, designing promo materials, and just enjoying life with my family. This past weekend I booked a wedding for August that I am so excited about! And just yesterday I had a fan-freaking-tasic newborn shoot that I can't wait to share with you. Baby "C" was possibly the best baby ever. He wasn't fussy, didn't cry, and we had NO accidents! He also managed a little smile while he was off in dreamland. Can I just say I hope when I have a baby that they are that amazing? haha. Of course I'll love them even if they aren't. Well that's all for my updates for now, but be sure to check in over the next few days for shots from yesterday's shoot!

And because I'm daydreaming of the beach and a photography blog isn't much without photos:

Malinda & Adam: Revisited

I know I had shared a teaser of Malinda & Adam a few weeks ago, but since I just finished editing their session I wanted to share a few more favorites from that day. Again, I just want to reiterate how much fun I had with these two and since they shared that they've never taken nice photos together before, I hope they continue to take portraits together over the years as a memento of different points in their relationship. Everyone deserves to have beautiful photos that make them smile!

Etsy Love: Logo Unveiling

So I just wanted to take a minute to rave about Etsy.  For those of you that don't know, Etsy is made up of a a community of artists whom have virtual stores where they sell their wares and talents. I can't tell you how many amazing items I've bought over the past few years (wedding items, birthday gifts, and treats for myself to name a few), but it's a great feeling to purchase something from the artists themselves. A few months ago I decided to hire graphic designer Amber Mabe to design my logo for Sweet Digital. I am just beyond thrilled with the end result and wanted to give a shoutout to Amber and Etsy! This experience has just further solidified why I love Etsy. If you havent visited the site yet, I suggest you check it out. I must warn you also, that it may be addicting :) and with that, my logo:

A Sweet Miracle: Maternity Shoot

I just finished editing the many photos from a maternity shoot I did at the proud parents home, 2 weeks ago. The sweet mommy-to-be was absolutely glowing and I can't wait to take baby Carson's newborn portraits once he arrives!!! For the sake of privacy I've decided not to share any photos showing the couples faces, I'm sure you understand. Now on to the beautiful belly shots! :)

Fix It Fridays: Wednesday Edition

So there's this blog that I frequently read called I Heart Faces. It's a good way for photographers and photo enthusiasts to have some fun. Every Friday they post images that were submitted by readers hoping that someone can save their less than perfect pictures, hence "Fix It Fridays". I'm a little bit late to the game, so this photo is from last weeks challenge- but I wanted to share my "fix" with you just the same. If you have a minute you may want to head over to the blog and check out different people's take on the same photo, its pretty neat!

The "Before" photo.

The "After" photo.

It helps tremendously that the subject is completely adorable! After some cropping, level adjustments, brightness/contrast tweaking, clone stamp application, a sharpening filter and a warming filter we've arrived at the finished product. A great improvement if I do say so myself. ;)
